According to Kelvin, Chief Research Officer of IHS iSuppli China, who published the rankings of smartphone giants in China and their shipment volume as well as marketshare in 2014. According the data released by him, Xiaomi overtook Samsung and now is in the leading position of smartphone market in China, with a 60.8 million smartphone shipment and 14.97% marketshare in China.
Kelvin explained that Xiaomi actually shipped 61.12 million Mi phones throughout 2014, including 60.8 million sets in China and 320, 000 sets overseas. Xiaomi sold out 19.5 million phones in Q4.
Samsung, for the first time, was overtaken by Xiaomi and ranks the second in the list, with 58.4 million shipment and 14. 38% marketshare in China. The following seats were taken by Lenovo, Apple and Huawei respectively.
